A few things about Amelia:

While these things are fresh on my mind I want to write them here. So many things are forgotten every day (cute things they say and do) and it drives me nutso! So here is a little Amelianess for you.

This is her at the Grand Hotel gardens. She carried her "baby black" in her sling all day long. She would NOT take it off and told her grandma Shari that Baby Black "is safe in the arms of her mama". Oh my. By the way, we have no idea why this baby is named Baby Black. She is not black, nor does she have black hair. It was named before we told them that their baby brother would be from Africa and would have black skin....so we just don't know what her little mind was thinking but that is her name and she is sticking with it:) She goes in and out of phases of playing with dolls. Mostly it is stuffed animals or her Schleich animals that she is attached to and cares for, but occasionally she goes through a few days of taking her doll everywhere, feeding her "mama's milk" etc.

Here she is eating her dessert. Anyone who has spent time with Amelia knows she has a sweet tooth like no other! She lives for the hope that sweets might come her way. Every day she'll say something like, "Can we have a cupcake today? Weeeeeee'll see!" She does NOT like to hear "no" but is okay as long as you say, "We'll see." :) :) She is also forever trying to steal sips of my diet cokes. The other day she said, "Mama, will you go upstairs and check your e-mail so that I can hide and drink your diet coke?" !!!! She definitely can't hide her sin yet:)

She loves, loves, loves people and gets very offended if people do not say a friendly hello to her when passing by. "They didn't say hello! It's NOT kind!" Here she is with a little boy she met at Red Butte Garden. I think she would have followed he and his family home without a thought. She is a "love em and leave em" type for now though and has no problems saying adios when the time comes. She is the perfect child to live in a neighborhood I think. As we were out walking this morning and saw some Ethiopian friends she was so quick to say hi and smile and probably would have run over and given them big hugs if she wasn't in the stroller. "She's our little ambassador of love" I thought to myself. So, while I still dream of open fields and farmhouses I am thankful Amelia will have a chance to love on this neighborhood. She and Joelie will lead the way.

While it's true that upon turning three she has become a bit more "contrary" , she still just makes my heart glad everyday. I am so thankful for you my Amelia girl. You bring lots and lots of joy to our home and hearts!

All for now,
Jen

My favorite article of clothing she owns is the little dress she's wearing in the last picture. I love her hair and her snuggles. I love to hear her say "Daddy" and "Momma". I love how she loves and how she truly lives.

I swear Jenny, kiddos "know" things. Just this weekend, when we were cleaning out our garage, I stumbled across this book that had notes from people at my baby shower giving me advice on mothering, and my little brother who was 7 at the time, wrote "I hope you have all the right cures for Griffin, I hope he went threw, what I went threw" that was two days before Griffin was born and we knew nothing until he was born....crazy!? Amelia has got a special spirit, so does Sam. Love you all.
