Tales from the coast: day 2

This morning was spent at more tide pools, where we saw many, many starfish, barnacles, some sea cucumbers, and a sea lion! Amazing! I mean, just pure joy to see the kids explore this beautiful shore. Jubilee was a little trooper and napped in the Beco carrier as I walked along the rocks and sand. So thankful for baby carriers!!
We ate lunch at a little seafood place in town- so good- then came back for rest. Well, half the crew rested and Shari and the big kids and I had such a fun time lounging in the sunshine in the back yard. We read books about the sea, kicked the soccer ball around, and (inspired by a Sparkle story we listened to on the way up), we made an obstacle course and had our own little Olympics. Fun times:)
Now, I am super duper sleepy and heading to bed. Excited for a trip to the aquarium tomorrow and, best of all, to catch up with some dear friends who will meet us there!:) Here are some of my favorite phone pics from the day.
