It's been a challenging week. Joel is out of town, Amelia and Ollie were sick and had ear infections, and today right as everyone was finally feeling better, Sam broke his hand!!
We went to enjoy the Fall colors with friends in Big Cottonwood Canyon and the kids had a blast. After being cooped up in the house, they were thrilled to be out in nature. At one point when climbing a rock fell on Sam's hand, and though it obviously hurt pretty bad, he seemed fine after a bit. Later in the afternoon, though, it was swollen and blue-ish and he couldn't grip anything. The twins were both over the moon excited that he might need to get a *cast*. In the end, he does. It's a small break and he's wearing a split now and a cast will happen next week. He couldn't stop smiling when the doctor told him- hehe. I was so proud of him at the office- he was so articulate and confident talking to the providers. Growing up, that little guy.
Anyway, it's been a long day and a long week. It's 11:30pm and I have a toddler rolling around in my bed refusing to sleep - ay yay yay. It could be so much worse though, and tomorrow is a new day. Actually in about thirty minutes it will be a new day.
What a gorgeous morning in the mountains though, it lifted my spirits and even now I can still feel the effects. I'm also so thankful for such caring friends. Bringing dinner, watching the girls  tonight, offering help of all sorts. So much to be thankful for.

Wheeler Farm Camp. (Narrated) By: Sam Hunt

Here are some things we did today at Wheeler Farm. I had fun. We got to make butter and play soccer and got to let one of the goats out of its cage. We stuck our shoes in the pig pen and the pig shoved it with his snout!
We had a tour of an old farm house. The people who lived there was called the Wheelers, and they wanted the farm to keep going well, and it did! That's why it's called the name Wheeler Farm.
We played a game with jacks and a bouncy ball. The game goed like this. So, we have to bounce the ball, pick up jacks and catch the ball before it landed. Sadly, I didn't get any jacks.
After that game I told you about we started to leave Wheeler Farm. I had a great time there!
The End
P.S. He wants you to know he got the idea of how to draw a barn from seeing a picture of one his friend Aviana drew. :)

FIVE!!

What a wonder that our Sam and Amelia are five! I have so much to write about their birthday, their party, and just about them...but for now, a new pic of our big kids:)

First faces...

Life is so full right now that I have too many things to write about and end up not writing anything! So, I've decided to catch up by posting just a few pictures of "lately".

I'll start with Sammy drawing his first faces! I realize lots of kids do this earlier, and that's great (I LOVE seeing Vera and Echo's art, they both draw better than I do!:), but I also love that Sam and Amelia are still so free in their expression. They have no idea that they are supposed to "color in the lines" and thankfully their little school lets them be completely free in their art, no adult examples or pictures of how it "should look". Still, I can't wait to see their drawing creations, and seeing Sammy's first face and his "happy caterpillar" was so much fun! Go Sammy go!

With the encouragement of their Creative Arts preschool and all of the cold weather and snow, their has been much more coloring going on lately. They have never been big colorers, much more into play-doh and paint, but more and more they are spending time on the floor coloring away together and it's wonderful to see.

All for now, Jen
